We are a provider of legal aid services and in certain circumstances you may qualify for legal aid. This is usually only granted however when you are at risk of imprisonment if convicted and if you meet the qualifying financial criteria.

When legal aid is not available then representation will be provided on a private fee paying basis at a charging rate of £217 per hour plus vat. However in some cases we may be able to charge you a fixed fee. Every case is different and we will happily quote you a fixed fee based upon your particular case. We pride ourselves in delivering a personal service and do not charge standard fees for typical types of road traffic offences because every case is unique.

To give an idea of anticipated legal costs here are some of our average costs:

Representation at first magistrates court hearing: £500 + vat (fee includes obtaining prosecution evidence, reviewing evidence, taking instructions and provision of advice and representation at first court hearing.)

Representation at half day magistrates court trial: £500 + vat (fee excludes first court hearing and includes preparation of defence case including obtaining witness statements and representation at trial hearing.)

Representation at full day magistrates court trial: £700 + vat (fee excludes first court hearing and includes preparation of defence case including obtaining witness statements and representation at trial hearing.)

If you are found not guilty following trial, then an application can be made to the National Taxing Team for reimbursement of your legal fees (capped at legal aid rates.)

If your case progresses to the Crown Court then legal aid is likely to be granted subject to a contribution payable towards legal fees. The contribution payable is assessed by the Legal Aid Agency in accordance with your means. If you are found not guilty following a Crown Court trial then any contributions paid will be refunded.
